Specialty Java Inc. is a specialty, artisan craft coffee roaster, founded in 2002. Each Specialty Java brand order is fresh roasted then shipped within hours directly to consumers and to wholesale coffee clients across the USA such as coffee shops, cafes, and online retailers for the freshest possible roast.

We also produce our own wildly popular Jo Coffee brand which we created in 2013, as an exclusively Fair Trade Organic coffee brand identity.

At the time, Jo Coffee was specifically for distribution through the Amazon FBA channel, but has since grown to many others. It has become one of Amazon's highest rated organic coffee brands with over 20,000 plus positive reviews.

We source only the finest, top 2% specialty grade Arabica green coffee, from around the world. Before we ever import our specialty coffee beans, they have passed the expert analysis and cupping palates of one of the world's best specialty coffee importers. The green coffee we source and purchase is far more expensive than lower grade coffee. Many large national brands, use a lower so-called "premium" grade coffee, a term common (a bit misleading) in the coffee industry. We simply avoid cheap, low grade coffees, which contributes to our highly rated and popular specialty coffee.

Private Label Coffee Services

With our free private label coffee services, we fresh roast your wholesale coffee order then package it with your custom private label packaging. Your gourmet specialty coffee is exclusively branded to your business!

In addition to our artisan hand-crafted micro-roastery, we utilize several contract co-packing plants, for specialized packaging requirements (recyclable cups for Keurig brewers, compostable pods for Keurig brewers, Nespresso compatible capsules, ground portion packs) for our own brands and private label clients.

The Founders

Fueled by discovering the exquisite taste of pure Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee on a scuba diving trip in his early 20's, our founder, Kevin Kapaun, began roasting coffee as a hobby for friends and family in the late 90's. After gifting Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee to his friends, Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame bass player Larry Graham and his wife Tina, Larry encouraged Kevin to turn his passion into a business. He became Kevin’s first customer.

Specialty Grade Arabica Coffee

It should be no surprise we recommend using the highest quality specialty coffee. Specialty grade coffee beans are the highest grade level, even higher than premium grade, a common and somewhat deceptive term used in the industry. Large, well-known commercial brands, regularly use cheap low-grade coffee beans to increase profits. While we do produce conventional coffees, we do recommend organic coffee. USDA Certified Organic coffee is grown on farms, according to strict standards set up by the United States Department of Agriculture, with no chemical contamination. Organic growing methods also benefit the environment. All USDA Certified Organic farming and subsequent roasting operations are inspected annually for compliance.
